Career Profile: Sales Manager A sales manager runs a firm's sales programs with the objective of making the maximum profit. He makes the procedures and training programs for sales people. A sales manager has to assign sales territories and goals to sales representatives. He evaluates and hires the sales staff. He interprets and enforces company policies, prepares business reports, and helps the staff solve problems. He needs to analyze the sales statistics in order to determine the sales potential and determine the needs of customers. All purchase requests must be approved by the sales manager. The sales manager maintains contact with dealers and distributors. He has to deal with all customer and staff complaints.

You need good reasoning to understand concepts and systems, solve problems, use judgment, understand and carry out instructions, and adapt to social work environments. Mathematical skills are also needed to analyze statistics. Some examples include algebraic equations, fractions, percentages, and ratios. The last main skill needed is language. This is needed in order to read poems and journals, write business letters and summaries, and participate in panel discussions. It involves basic skills such as a mastery of extensive vocabulary and use of correct sentence structure, punctuation, and spelling. There are some major advantages to being a sales manager. Being a sales manager is a very important job, and the decisions made affect tons of different people. Sales managers also get power over many people. The better the decisions they make, the more profits they make as well. You get to work around people and make friends. There are no real physical requirements. The requirements for education are only high school, plus work experience. That means you don't have to go to or pay for college. Since the amount of people that are business managers continues to increase, it looks like it is a stable job and is not that hard to obtain. There are also some major disadvantages. FIVE-YEAR CAREER DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Introduction:
Career development is a continuous process of handling proactively work and changes in life in order to move forward and reach the goals set for a better future. It involves learning new skills, moving up in the position within the organization or altogether moving to new organization or even starting up a new business. A career development plan is created to set goals and how to reach these goals using your talents and skills in the working world. A five year plan is ideal to start with, as five years are enough to reach bigger goals while working for and achieving smaller goals.

Career Goals and Objectives:
My personal mission is to improve people’s lives through medicine and care and make world a healthier place by using my skills and coming up with innovative ideas to manage healthcare organizations. There are two goals which need to be accomplished: One is the short term goal which is to be accomplished in a short period, say a year or few months. My short term career objective is to complete my Masters degree in Administrative Science with good grades which will reflect in my resume. Second is the long term goal: what I want to do in the next 5 years and where I want to be at the end of the fifth year by effectively shaping my future in an organization. My objective is to be a Healthcare Services Administrator of a healthcare organization such as hospital or public health department. My degree of Administrative Science with specialization in Global Health and Human Services will help me to develop skills to manage a healthcare facility effectively and efficiently, as well as my human resources skills will help me manage and work with people. This will guide me to achieve my objective of outshining in life and working for the betterment of people and me. Apart from this, it’s my dream to join a culinary school and become a food critic and visit different places in world and taste their native dishes.

Education, training, knowledge and skills:
Aiming to a career in medicine and health, I pursued my Bachelors degree in Pharmacy. Throughout the course I learnt the concepts of medicine and developed skills in working within a healthcare team. During this time, I worked as a volunteer at hospitals to learn and understand its working and how management works.
